The Cat's Meow - 10/29/04: Independence

A Republican always votes for the Republican. A Democrat always votes for the Democrat. An Independent carefully measures the qualifications of both candidates, and then always votes for the Democrat.

Actually that's not always the case. I'm registered Democrat...and I've voted for Repulican senators etc.

Technically, you are considered a "swing voter": someone who is aligned with a particular party but periodically crosses over to vote for the other. Swing voters are considered by both parties to be the key target group in this election. I was very careful to only poke fun at independents so that you swing voters would still feel that I appreciate you and want my guy to have your support.
