Confused Americans for Truth - An Explosive Summary

by Ferdinand T Cat

I thought it would be worth while to collect in one place all that we know about the whole missing explosives story. I spent the morning surfing through both liberal and conservative blogs. The results are shown below (or in the extended entry if you're only looking at the summary).

It's clear to me that we still have no idea what really happened or who is responsible. The only way we can get to the bottom of this is appoint an independent commission to investigate. In my mind, there is only one person capable of sorting through this morass of frightening and contradictory data. That person is John Kerry. Why? Because the facts about this incident are just as goofy and incomprehensible as his plan for Iraq.

Let's just hope that come January Kerry doesn't have some other job that will keep him from performing this important task.

Respectfully submitted,

Ferdinand T. Cat

The summary from my morning surf:

  • The Captain's Quarters points out that the Al QaaQa site's explosives are just a tiny fraction of munitions believed to be still at large.
  • Outside the Beltway cites news stories showing that there was activity at the site before the invasion and that ABC has a video showing some of the explosives still on site while US troops were stationed near the site.
  • Wizbang cites evidence that the ABC crew that took the video may not have been at the actual Al QaaQa site.
  • Powerline consults a munitions expert who says that the explosives seen in the ABC video may not have been the extra-scary HMX, but a more mundane explosive called nitrostarch.
  • The Progressive Blog Alliance has a photo taken of the explosives on April 18th, proving that they were removed after coalition forces left the site.
  • Mouse Musings reports that the ABC pictures have been confirmed to be pictures of the Al QaaQa site.
  • Body and Soul has published a timeline proving the explosives were looted.

I disagree. Kerry's retrospective planning of the war has been faultless. I believe we should put him in command of our frontline troops. We'll outsource him to Iraq for a couple of years. Wow, in 2 years he could earn a hundred purple hearts.

The most dangerous place in Viet Nam during Kerry's 4½ month tour was between Kerry and a camera.

I wholeheartedly agree. We need to make sure Kerry is comepletely unencumbered by anything that will hinder his investigation.

Love your blog... added you to my blogroll! :)

Ah yes, the answer to everything. I call for in independent comission into John Kerry being knocked down on the slopes.

It's my understanding that if Kerry loses, Walter Cronkite will issue a statement that the ski slope fall was engineered by Karl Rove and a senate investigation of "SlopeGate" will be forthcoming.
