Confused Americans for Truth - Yanking the Tail of the Blogosphere
Captain's Quarters has an article about a new campaign by CBS to discredit blogging. Unfortunately, the Captain's analysis is missing a key piece of information from the Progressive Blog Alliance: conservatives now dominate the mass media.
As PBA blogger Antitheton points out, the current situation is part of a planned conservative takeover of the mass media beginning way back in the Reagan Administration. Part of that plan is the use of deregulation to enable large corporations to gobble up independent news voices.
According to FreePress.net, 73% of journalists believe that the news is being influenced by the profit-driven needs of big corporations. Since the whole point of being a journalist is to find the truth, this sinister influence must be real. And let's face it, Viacom is too big to be free of this influence.
So what's really going on? Since CBS has already been taken over by a large corporation with heavy Republican leanings, this latest story about the dangers of blogs must be part of Karl Rove's master plan to destroy the Democratic party. That's why the The Progressive Blog Alliance isn't running with this story. They understand that they, not Instapundit and Captain's Quarters, are the real target of CBS's anti-blog campaign.
Just try to prove me wrong.
Respectfully submitted,

"Conservatives now dominate the mass media"
Puhleeeeez! Did you get some bad cat food or were you standing on your head when you wrote this? If conservatives are planning a takeover of the MSM, they have a very, very long way to go! I think we would settle for some balance.

Drat! Apparently, I can't trust what I've read on the Progressive Blog Alliance!
This is all Bruce's fault. He said I have to be more open-minded. I knew it was a bad idea, but it's just so hard to say no when he looks at me with those big brown eyes.
