Confused Americans for Truth - What Planet are Liberals From?
I have to apologize. I know that when people come to my blog they expect skepticism and hard-headedness grounded in the here and now. However, I can no longer ignore the evidence: it is now apparent that the liberal blogs spent most of 2004 on another planet.
I know what you're thinking: you're thinking I've been sniffing too much catnip. No, I'm afraid what's pushed me over the edge is this article from the Progressive Blog Alliance.
"I can't tell you how many times I've sat in meetings with people and they've said, "We can't go negative,' " Struble said. "Hell yeah you can!"
He said the Democrats should do the same thing the Republicans have done: attack early and keep it up.
"We keep on acting like we're playing rope-a-dope," he said, referring to the boxing strategy of taking blow after blow. "We just want to be nice and have everybody like us."
See what I mean about the other planet thing? I'm trying to remember anything about the Kerry campaign that wasn't negative.
But perhaps we're not being fair. Yes, Michael Moore was peddling Bush hatred, but he was not a part of the campaign. MoveOn.org ran an ad comparing Bush to Hitler, but that was not part of the Kerry campaign. The mainstream press kept running stories about Bush being AWOL from the National Guard, but the mainstream press is not part of the Kerry campaign. The Dixie Chicks were publicly ashamed of Bush, but they weren't part of the Kerry campaign.
The thing is, if you were living on the same planet as the rest of us, you would have to have noticed all that stuff, and it's really hard to feel that the Kerry campaign is taking the high road when the news is crammed full of people taking the low road on Kerry's behalf.
So, here's the real trick that Democrats need to steal from the Republican playbook: STAY ON THIS PLANET! Or, if you insist on living in a parallel universe, TAKE US WITH YOU! It is TOTALLY UNFAIR that we have to live with all this insane Bush-bashing and you don't.
Respectfully submitted,
Ferdinand T. Cat

~at least we liberals can think, act, speak for ourselves, rather than the conservative bunch who needs to be told what to say, think and believe...~

Boy, I would love to make a scathing reply to that comment, but Karl Rove's phone is busy, so I don't know what to think.

"at least we liberals can think"
Analyzing bumper stickers is called thinking in your circles?
Good.
There goes the next election for you.
