Notes from Ferdy - 2004 and 2005

by Ferdinand T Cat

Bruce and I, along with all the rest of the crew here at Conservative Cat, wish all of you a

Let us hope that 2005 will see the blessings of liberty spread further throughout the world, and that those blessings will turn people away from terrorism and other pointless violence.

It is common at this time to summarize what has happened in the previous year, and to make predictions for the next year. However, you're probably sick of that. Therefore, I will use the unique psychic power possessed by cats to predict the past, and tell you what's going to have happened in 2004.

  • George W. Bush became President because there were not enough recounts done in Ohio.
  • The Republican win in the November elections was a fluke, caused by the fact that large corporate interests control all the media and ordinary individuals can't get their voices heard.
  • The occupation of Iraq was the bloodiest armed conflict in history.
  • An unholy alliance of orthodox Jews and fundamentalist Christians has been trying to take over the Supreme Court, and only a heroic filibuster by the Democrats stopped them.
  • John Kerry lost the election because Karl Rove successfully portrayed him as a rich liberal from Massachussets instead of an ordinary man from America's heartland who became a war hero.
  • Dan Rather told the truth, it was only his facts that were wrong.
  • The 2004 election taught the Democrats the importance of getting your message to the people, which is why we need to do something about the partisan, right-wing media in this country.

Respectfully submitted
