Blogging for Condi - Message for Joe Biden

by Ferdinand T Cat

My favorite radio host, Laura Ingraham, has a nifty feature in which she asks her listeners to vote on their favorite souond bite of the week. This week's winner was the following from Senator Joe Biden (D-DE), discussing Condoleezza Rice's nomination for Secretary of State.

I'm gonna vote for Dr. Rice but I pray to the Lord that she's at least telling the president "HEY BOSS, it's not going that well, HEY BOSS, we don't have that many people trained, HEY BOSS, the Iranians aren't gonna rise up, HEY BOSS, we ought to read a little bit of history.

Once again, I have the eerie feeling that the Democratic party is trapped in the Sixties.

Hey, you! Biden! News Flash!

THIS ISN'T THE JACK BENNY SHOW!
REAL BLACK PEOPLE DON'T TALK THAT WAY!

Respectfully submitted,

Ferdinand T. Cat

Trapped in the 60's is an understatement. Imagine if it wasn't "politically incorrect" to spit on soldiers when they returned from war like they did back then.

You know, Biden has always been kind of been a whiney a$$. I don't trust him anymore than a used car dealer. Old Zekey's dura-matter doesn't matter much these days, but was not Brother Biden involved in a little scandal a few years ago re plagiarism?

Yes, Bruce remembers that incident. (He has trouble remembering the day of the week, but obscure political stuff from 29 years ago is clear as crystal.)

It was in 1987, and Gary Hart had just dropped out of the Democratic Presidential nomination race because he was caught cheating on his wife. Sensing blood in the water, Michael Dukakis released a story alleging that Biden was using material by contemporary British Labour leader Neil Kinnock in his speeches. It's not quite as serious as plagiarism in a written medium or a school assignment, but it was enough to taint Biden's reputation for the rest of his life.
