Eternal Questions - 03/11/05: Money
If progresives believe that money is a bad influence, why do they measure our commitment to a cause by how much money we spend on it?

Because, like it or not, "Money make the world go around, the world go around, the world go around..."

Well, I'm not sure who or what progres$ives are, but while the love of money is the root of all evil, the money itself is just a medium of exchange. I pay $35 for groceries, just more convenient than offering 30 minutes of my time debugging a program, when it would take me 30 minutes just to set up to work on the program and then then stop. Non-sensical.

That's what holding others to a higher standard is all about.

Good point!
Some could respond that you can also show your devotion to a cause by contributing your volunteer effort, but in effect, everything has a monetary value, whether it is 10 hours a week, a donated used car, or a $100 cash donation.
The progressives probably think the causes they donate money to are not the causes that are subject to a bad influence.
