Blogging for Condi - Freedom Counter
The following is a simple JavaScript counter that estimates the dollar cost of bringing peace and freedom to the people of the Middle East. I would like to say that the job is over, but we all know that's not the case, so the counter value keeps increasing.
Earlier today on the Art Wallis show on WLS-AM, a caller asked what a Martian would think our priorities were if he chanced to look over the Federal Budget. I am not a Martian, but I am a superior life form. The counter above tells me that the highest priority we have here in the United States is the protection of human liberty.
I think that's a good thing. In fact, it's exactly what I'd want the government of Mars to conclude before trying to decide whether or not it's a good idea to send in a fleet of giant, three-legged war machines.
Respectfully submitted,

The dollar figure on your counter is asonishing. I was in court not long ago and there was this father of six children. He was pulled over on his way to work and given a citation for not having registration tags on his licence plates, and no proof insurance. It was his seventh violation for that code. He could not pay the reg. fees. He was not drunk and testified that he never drank. He was a hard working man by all appearances who just needed to get to work to provide for his family.
Now the judge asks him if he wants to do six months jail or a $3,000 fine. Well the guy takes six months (He has not $3,000),,,GOOD LUCK 6 kids, daddy tried to get to work to feed you. I wonder how much well fare is going to add upto when these kids of his don't get fed propperly or have a dad to help with schoolastics.
What I want to know is, is there any reason why we should not give free registration of anything government related to the poor? This is not giving something for free, its choosing not to tax poor people and make regulatable activities like driving impossible for the over-burdened to achieve.
I wish I could beleive that in this contry we would not tax someone into jail so we could be the "protection of human liberty" in the middle east. And yes his fees do go to the war like all tax dollars. Appropriated funds is a big joke. Its just one FAT CAT big Government.
