The Cat's Meow - 04/27/05: Obfuscation
The great paradox of the English language is its ability to convey less information through the use of bigger words.
I got the idea for today's quote from this article on a member blog of my favorite font of liberalism, The Progressive Blog Alliance. I was tracing the genesis of this example of unvarnished name-calling when I came across the article in question.
I have to be honest. I do know what the author is trying to say-- namely, that he feels a particular quote says something new about the Jewish Holocaust in World War II. The question is, why the heck does he make us work so hard to figure that out?
Respectfully submitted,
Ferdinand T. Cat
