Carnivals - New Features on the Carnival Form

by Ferdinand T Cat

The Carnival Submit Form now contains a window into carnival-related posts on this blog. If your browser supports IFRAMEs (which Internet Explorer and Firefox both do), simply scroll down and you'll see the window on the lower right.

In addition to recent carnival-related articles posted here on Conservative Cat, the window contains a list of carnival pings.
If you are hosting a carnival and your blog supports trackbacks, you can make your carnival edition appear in this little list by pinging us at http://www.conservativecat.com/mt/mt-tb.cgi/416. This allows prospective participants to view examples of the carnival so they can determine what may or may not be appropriate. It also makes the carnivals easier to find.

The image on the left is a fragment of the form page showing the new window. You can see four pings in the top section, representing four recently-posted carnivals. Beneath that you can see the top of an article about the Carnival of the Cats and the Best of Me Symphony. The net effect (we hope) is to make more information available to carnival participants.

Respectfully submitted,

Ferdinand T. Cat

I just discovered your site and this carnival stuff. I am a fairly intelligent Siamese cat, and my human valet does lots of web programming, but neither of us know what a Carnival is.

That is a worthwhile question and I will post an article on the topic shortly.

(BTW, "fairly intelligent Siamese" is like saying "fairly windy hurricane".)
