Notes from Ferdy - Reflections on Spam, #2

by Ferdinand T Cat

Maybe Stephen Newton is right and I don't understand economics. A while back I paid $30.00 for one month of advertising on This Blog is Full of Crap and I got 599 hits ($0.05/hit).

So why would Clicks4Sure expect me to pay $39.95 per month for 250 qualified hits per year ($1.92/hit)?

Here are my hypotheses.

  1. "Qualified hits" means "Glenn Reynolds".
  2. My ads get more traffic because they contain pictures of me.
  3. Clicks4Sure is full of crap.

Respectfully submitted,

Ferdinand T. Cat

I'd like to invite you to our live chat tonight. Every Friday night starting at 8 p.m. EST! Hope you can make it.

I was actually thinking about advertising on IFOC and this solidified it for me.

Sorry for going OT Ferdinand, but thanks for dropping by earlier and for the comment. Have a great weekend.

You too, BW. Bruce is more cheerful now that taxes are done, and that will help.

What I've noticed is that we can get the same amount of traffic from BlogExplosion, but the people coming from blogads are more likely to leave comments. That makes it worth the fee, in my opinion. Of course, it helps that it's really Bruce's money.

Unless this explains why I don't get as many mozzarella cheese snacks any more...

Thanks for the name check. But you don't really need me to explain this one to you... do you?

No. Sometimes I'm just after the laugh. You might be able to help me with this one, though: http://www.conservativecat.com/mt/archives/2005/02/022305_kiefer_s_1.html

Your best investment was your ad on Truth Laid Bear saying "Post a comment, get a free link to boost your TLB Ecosystem ranking!"

Look at the results. I'm here again, making a comment!
