Confused Americans for Truth - Headlines Out of Control, Reaction on Page 3

by Ferdinand T Cat

Extreme headline weirdness today at The Drudge Report. Even though I'm already on record as to the unreliability of headlines, this one really takes the cake.

The headline in question screams RAGE AT AUTHOR AFTER CLAIM: BILL RAPED HILLARY, CONCEIVED CHELSEA.

The actual story, of course, is very different from the headline. There's no evidence that Bill forced himself on Hillary, merely that he used the words "I'm going to go back to my cottage to rape my wife." at a cocktail party. This is evidence of aggravated tackiness, not sexual assault. Not only is tackiness not at all surprising from Bill, we've already spent millions of tax dollars to prove that he is not a credible resource when it comes to stories about his own sexual activities.

So, the only mystery here is why the Clintons would dignify the episode with any sort of rage. Of course, the only rage evidence we have is attributed to an anonymous source, which as we have seen is not exactly the best criterion for accuracy.

Just remember. If you're a Clinton supporter and you want to protest this book, DO NOT try flushing it down the toilet. It won't hurt the book, and it really messes up the toilet.

Respectfully submitted,

Ferdinand T. Cat

Back in March, I hosted the Bonfire of the Vanities. From what I remember, I enjoyed it. Just goes to show you how unreliable memories are. Not sure what I'm talking about? Well, then. Imagine finding all of these entries [Read More]

it's not tacky for the clintons to defend themselves. it's wrong for you to promote this story and further attack them and the left.

It's easy to attack the left, Toots. Every time Howard Scream opens his piehole, Christmas comes early for the good guys.

I guess I need to dumb down my stuff. If you read a little more carefully, you'll see I was not attacking the Clintons, I was attacking the story itself.

No, Ferdy, you don't need to dumb it down for me...maybe for "shillary", but I read it correctly. I was just antagonizing Jami.

I actually agree with your take, Ferdy. I've seen nothing to convince me that the "Bill rapes Hillary" story is true, and while Ed Klein is certainly NO conservative, I find it incredibly unreliable. I despise the Clintons intensely, and I believe that Juanita Broaddrick is proof that Bill Clinton is capable of rape. However, I have no reason to believe that Bill raped his own wife.

I think that portion of the book is distasteful, and Klein needs to prepare for a libel lawsuit. If I were the Clintons, I'd be talking to a lawyer right now. The only public statement I'd have is "Under advice from my civil / trial attorney, I'm not going to comment on that tripe!"
