The Human Element - Thoughts on Preparing Your Oldest Child for College

Peg-Eye Nate is even now waiting in line to pick up the instruction packet for today's Summer Orientation thing. I can't believe how much has changed since I got my undergraduate degree here. I remember most of the students being the same age as I was, but now everybody is so YOUNG!

Also, why is there no Starbucks? The nearest Starbucks is at the state capital, 85 miles north of here. It seems to me college students need caffeine a lot more than legislators. This is a blue state, and the more alert our politicians are, the more likely they'll pass stupid laws.

If Ferdy were in charge, I think things would be a lot better.
