The Human Element - Vacation, Anyone?

By powerbeyondimagining

Missing teen Natalee Holloway is still missing, after 5 days of searching fruitlessly in Aruba.

Holloway, a senior from Mountain Brook High School near Birmington, AL, was among 125 other seniors that were taking a five-day trip to the Carribbean island. Police started searching for the Alabama blonde after she failed to show up for the group's return flight.

Holloway was last seen leaving a bar in Aruba's capital, Oranjestad, just before dawn on Monday. Holloway's parents are worried about their daughter, and refuse to give up searching. Says her mother, Beth Holloway Twitty, "I am not leaving. I am going to have Natalee with me."

My big question: Where were the parents on this trip? Where was her travel buddy? Okay, she's 18, fine; have we forgotten that she's in a foreign country? My friend can't go to Mexico because she's going to be in Tijuana, where young girls are raped and murdered every day, and the police look the other way. For a person that is a bad decision-maker, that's the best one she's made in her life.

If you're 9 or even 19, you should always have a parent or guardian with you in a strange country. I'm a teenager, saying that I'm pro-supervision, but it's really true. Even if you totally disagree with me, at least take a friend. Learn a lesson from Natalee Holloway: never roam alone.

The search for Natalee continues in Aruba, and as of yet she still remains to be discovered.
