The Cat's Meow - 07/06/05: Changes

by Ferdinand T Cat
When you make a change, the thing you will miss the most is the one you took so thoroughly for granted you didn't even think to ask about it.

Bruce likes to tell the story of the time he and his family went on a two-week vacation to Florida. In those days they still didn't fully understand the cause of his headaches, so he was operating inside a very narrow set of limits on what he could eat, when he could sleep, and so forth. The plan was to get a cottage with a kitchen so that he could cook his own meals most of the time, thus cutting down on one of the variables. He spent weeks analyzing the different options, making sure he knew exactly how many room air filters to bring, that he wouldn't have to worry about running out of allergy pills, that the place was non-smoking, and there were no cookie or candy factories in the area. He was quite proud of all the effort he had put in to the endeavor.

Anyway, that's how Bruce found out he didn't know how to cook with an electric stove.

Respectfully submitted,

Ferdinand T. Cat
