Carnivals - Carnival of the Vanities 158: EZ Reader Edition
Carnival of the Vanities #158 was the first Carnival ever posted by Geoff of Expatriots United. Due to time constraints, most of the carnival was created by pasting the entire content of the submission EMAILs. This provides a great deal of information about each post, but it's a bit hard to read. (One advantage, though, is that every third paragraph is "Conservative Cat".) As a public service, we would like to present an EZ-Reader edition for those of you (like Bruce) who need something that's easier to navigate.
Wayne Hurlbert of Blog Business World presents Blog Topic Ideas: Staying Inspired.
Forward Biased presents About Dang Time.
Reaganites Unite! presents Condi in '08? Not at This Rate!.
The Stone City presents Tokens
Drew McKissick of Conservative Outpost presents Confirmation Follies.
Dan Melson of Searchlight Crusade presents Petroleum and Energy.
Razor Bennelli of Bennelli Brothers presents Coffee, Tea, or Me.
Nickie Goomba presents Mayor sez 'Ignore the Feds'.
Two Dogs of Mean Ol' Meany presents Burger King's Corrected Ice Cream Thingy.
Buckley F. Williams of Nose on Your Face presents Unable to Use 'Stupid', Press Conference Breaks Up Early.
David St. Lawrence of Ripples presents An Engineer's View of Global Warming.
Andrew Ian Dodge of Dodgeblogium submitted an article about Charles Kennedy, but his blog is not currently working. Here's hoping the condition is temporary.
NOTR at ROFASix presents Gasoline: $10 a Gallon Ahead?.
Mr. Right of In the Right Place presents Angry Protestors Demand U.S. out of U.S. Now!.
Russ Mitchell of Boxing Alcibiades presents Republicans to base: Shut Up if you Know What's Good for You.
Charlie Quidnunc of Rip N Read presents The Stuck on Stupid, Davis/Bacon, Dumpster Diving for Credit Podcast.
Alan K. Henderson presents The Firefly Theme Song, Reworded for the Blogosphere.
The Assimilated Negro presents The Benefits of Converting from Negro to Assimilated Negro.
Elisson of Blog d'Elisson presents Blow Me.
Sean Hackbarth of The American Mind presents Protest Freaks.
Neal Phenes of Et Tu Bloge presents Dylan and Fan Just a Little Too Young.
Musings From Brian J. Noggle presents They Do the Jobs Americans Won't.
Letters From the Bostonian Exile presents The Eleventh Commandment.
Warren Meyer of Coyote Blog presents The Death of Small-Government Republicans.
Sean Gleeson presents Find the Pork!. [Turn your audio down if you're in a public space, as this is a loud post.]
The MaryHunter at TMH's Bacon Bits presents Bad Science, Worse Journalism.
Big Picture Guy of Big Picture, Small Office presents Going, Going, Gone.
Mark A. Rayner at The Skwib presents Baboon-Washing Club Rules.
UPDATE 09/30/05: Abnu of Wordlab presents The New Face of Coke.
Geoff is taking serious heat for messing up the carnival. If you are hosting a carnival for the first time and HTML is not your bag, consider talking to Bruce well ahead of time for some important hints and tips. If you have Windows, his Windows/MSN Messenger ID is drake@mkrules.net. Otherwise, send him an EMAIL. He used to teach computer science and is pretty good at this stuff. |
Respectfully submitted,
Ferdinand T. Cat

I have no idea how hard it must be to host a Carnival. Evidently this weeks host found out and got beat up about it. But the results were not bad ... just a wee bit different. I guess one has to read the approximately 25 posts and then try and say so... [Read More]

The guy sucked up the Carnival so bad, TWO people stepped in and did their own versions of it.
Amazing.

Sorry, Ferd, I called you Bruce in my post. Then I corrected it. I get you two confused sometimes.
Posted by: Sean Gleeson at September 29, 2005 7:55 PM
It's okay. Even Bruce gets the two of us confused every now and then.

Thank you, Ferdy & Bruce, for helping to rescue this carnival!
I think we need to award some sort of blogosphere raspberry to someone who shall heretofore be referred to only as Blogger X!

I suspect he was just in over his head and was unable to get help because of deadline pressure. Bruce spent 10 years as a consultant and knows the feeling intimately.

Sorry guys, Haloscan kept telling me that the trackback server had timed out. The third time it finally showed trackback success. I see now you have three or em', sorry bout that. Evidently, I knew now what I did...or how.

Don't get the wrong idea that Geoff of Expatriots United, simply copied and pasted all the submissions made using Ferdy's handy submission form. Nooooo.
At least he made the effort to delete my submission, which probably offended his better judgment.

[Abnu provided the text of his submit form EMAIL receipt, and I have since added him to the main entry.]
