Point Well Taken - 10/21/05: Racial Politics
Every now and then it occurs to me that since the first hominids evolved in Africa, then technically, under the terms of the one-drop rule, the entire human population is African-American. This means we can throw out all these stupid prejudices and preferential policies.
The reason I don't do this is that I know how the Left thinks, and if it looks like the Theory of Evolution would make racial politics obsolete, every single science textbook would be rewritten to emphasize Intelligent Design.
