Confused Americans for Truth - New Poll Shows We Have Too Much Faith In Polls

by Ferdinand T Cat

Every now and then I wonder if the democratic ideal of "the majority is always right" has led to an out-of-control opinion-polling industry.

World Net Daily's front page has an article entitled God beats evolution in new poll. Now, my personal opinion on creation is that the beginning of time is an logically unimaginable construct, like the largest whole number or a fair tax system, so I don't think about it very much. But there are two things I want to be sure everybody understands.

  • Regardless of what a poll says, the truth is still the truth. There was a time when FLAT would have won a poll about the shape of the earth.
  • If a Catholic Democrat can support abortion, an Intelligent Design Democrat can support an evolution-only curriculum.

So, obviously, this poll doesn't make any difference. But there is a more important point that you absolutely must never forget. Before you commission a poll, you must keep in mind that to a lot of liberals, the votes are only legitimate if they have the correct result.

Respectfully submitted,

Ferdinand T. Cat
