Web Site News - A Night without the Internet

I sincerely hope that none of you ever have to endure anything like what I go through when my pet is deprived of the Internet.

Many people make the mistake of thinking that Bruce is unusually well-informed on a large array of subjects, but the truth is that he's only as smart as his last Google search. The first sign I had that something was wrong occurred when he was trying to find out if Russ and Amber Tamblyn were related. He was sitting there hitting the refresh button and moaning softly each time it came back with a 404 not found error.

The worst incident of the night occurred when he wanted to find out the root causes of the War of the Roses in medieval England. In desperation, he tried digging out an old written copy of Encyclopedia Brittanica that was hidden behind a bookcase filled with paperback books and video tapes. He was screaming "It has to be in here SOMEWHERE!" when the twins overpowered him and the Girl Who Feeds Me convinced him the best solution was a dose of sleeping pills and an early bedtime.

Don't let this happen to you. If your pet is one of these techno-geek Internet junkies, contact your cable company at once and get a schedule of all their unplanned outages for the next several months. That way, you'll be prepared for the worst.

An ounce of sleeping pills in advance is worth a pound of sedatives after the fact. Trust me on this one.
