Confused Americans for Truth - Can Santa Claus Save the Democrats?

by Ferdinand T Cat

David at Third World County made the following observation in response to Doctor Dean Turns Out to be A Quack.

May I respectfully submit that Dean's list is NOT a list of goals; it's a wishlist. Goals have defined objectives with time and resource constraints acknowledged, accounted for and built into the structure of each goal, in other words, substantive rhetoric.

I really hate to say this about a human, but David is correct. Nonetheless, it took a feline brain to realize what it all means. The Democrats are going to reveal their plan early in 2006. That means they expect to have the plan in their hands by the end of 2005. What happens at the end of the year and involves wishes?

SantaDean.gifThe Democrats expect Santa Claus to deliver their Plan for America.

The downside to this strategy is that the Democrats have a reputation for being anti-Christmas. Worse, some of the more public male Democrats have a reputation for excessive naughtiness.

There is hope, however. If enough people write to Santa asking him to take pity on the Democratic National Committee, the jolly old elf may be moved to put a winning strategy for the War on Terror in Howard Dean's Christmas Stocking. To help with this effort, I've written a sample letter below the fold that you can send to Santa Claus.

Dear Santa

America's two-party system is in trouble because only one party has a real plan for helping America solve its problems. I know that some Democrats have been naughty and you may have them marked down for lumps of coal, but the Democratic Party is an important part of our political system, and as long as they're stuck in complaint mode our political debate is going nowhere. Please give DNC Chairman Howard Dean the Plan for America he wants for Christmas. It will make us all a lot happier!

Just copy the above text and send it to santa@conservativecat.com. Bruce will collect all the EMAILs and make sure they go to the proper place.

Respectfully submitted,

Ferdinand T. Cat

I'm gonna steal your "Santadean" gif (with appropriate credit, of COURSE, and ask forgiveness later.

It's just TOOOOO good not to be featured all over the blogosphere...

That's certainly being too generous to Howard Dean, who, as we all know, has his name written in permanent marker on the naughty list. I'm going to steal that graphic too...it is too funny.

Feel free to use the graphic and spread the word. We need bipartisan support to make this happen. It warms the cockles of my heart (yes, I do have one) to think of how Dr. Dean will appreciate this kind gesture on his behalf.

I've been listening to Air America (Its a service I provide--counter talking poitns to some people at work) and I realized something while Randi Rhodes was on.

The on air personalities are very aware that the Democrats don't have a plan, but they can't say so. So they've begun grasping at straws. Guess wherethe biggest old batch of straws appears to be comming from...

NBC's The West WIng, in particular the "debate episode." I've started keeping track of how many Santos campaign promises are recycled on Air America.

Come to think of it....Santos....Santa? Hmmmmmmmm.
