Confused Americans for Truth - France Losing Control, Newsweek Stuck on Stupid

by Ferdinand T Cat

Okay, enough is enough! Even the Huffington Post has had the sense to stay away from analyzing the Paris riots. So, why is Newsweek parroting the party line?

These are not poor, misunderstood people rising up to build themselves a better life, these are thugs burning cars! In a real uprising, the revolutionaries have a plan. They have leaders willing to seize the reins of power and who have a clue how to govern.

We have here a completely new phenomenon, my friends: the first WELFARE STATE RIOT. Each flaming car is a fax saying we're pissed off so you'd better come up with a way to fix our problems.

Newsweek is falling right into this thought pattern without even noticing. It's as if they think this is just a protest march, only extra-crispy. It's not a protest march unless there are actual statements of grievance. This is protest. This is vandalism.

I must be fair. It's not hard to imagine that people who think burning a flag is free speech can be fooled into thinking that burning a car is also a form of political speech. But we must keep in mind that many people think the road to peace is understanding and therapy, and that can't possibly work unless the understanding is based in reality. Until you grasp the difference between grievances and whining, your therapists are going to be working without claws in the gripping hands. A cat can overcome that sort of handicap, but a human doesn't have a flexible spine.

So tomorrow, when Bruce downloads the morning headlines and reads them to me, instead of French Riots Turn Deadly I want to hear Press, Islamists No Longer Stuck on Stupid.

Anything anybody can do to make that happen would be greatly appreciated.

Respectfully submitted
