EMAIL Hell - Phishing Attacks on the Rise

by Ferdinand T Cat

In the past two days, Conservative Cat has received about 80 fraudulent EMAILs warning us of security problems. The subject lines include

  • Your password has been successfully updated
  • Your password has been updated
  • Please update your Amazon account!
  • Your account is suspended
  • Detected online user violation
  • Warning Message: Your services near to be closed.
  • You have successfully updated your password
  • Your account is suspended for security reasons
  • Notice of account limitation
  • Important notification
  • Thank you for your donation to the Democratic National Committee

Each of these is accompanied by either

  1. a link to a site that will set you up for identity theft,
  2. an attachment that will plant a virus, or
  3. a Power Point presentation of the Democrats' plan for a better future.

Viewing any of these things will cause you all sorts of terrible problems, so be careful!

Respectfully submitted,

Ferdinand T. Cat
