EMAIL Hell - Phishing Attacks on the Rise
In the past two days, Conservative Cat has received about 80 fraudulent EMAILs warning us of security problems. The subject lines include
- Your password has been successfully updated
- Your password has been updated
- Please update your Amazon account!
- Your account is suspended
- Detected online user violation
- Warning Message: Your services near to be closed.
- You have successfully updated your password
- Your account is suspended for security reasons
- Notice of account limitation
- Important notification
- Thank you for your donation to the Democratic National Committee
Each of these is accompanied by either
- a link to a site that will set you up for identity theft,
- an attachment that will plant a virus, or
- a Power Point presentation of the Democrats' plan for a better future.
Viewing any of these things will cause you all sorts of terrible problems, so be careful!
Respectfully submitted,
Ferdinand T. Cat
