Laura Ingraham - The Story Behind the Behind Closed Doors Story

by Ferdinand T Cat

This morning Fox News has a more in-depth report on yesterday's close Senate session. The story goes into some of the history of the investigation being conducted by the Senate Intelligence Committee into pre-war intelligence about Iraq.

According to Intelligence Charmain Pat Roberts (R-Kan), the purpose of phase two is to determine whether officials lied about prewar intelligence.

In other words, the public statements made in the administration and the public statements made by public officials, whether they be in the Congress, whether they be in the administration ... were those public statements really backed up by intelligence, or were they backed up by flawed intelligence?

A further detail was provided this morning on the Laura Ingraham show by Senator John Kyle (R-AZ). According to Kyle, the committee wishes to consider 400 statements. The Democrats want to restrict the inquiry to the 300 statements made by Republicans.

I think this is good news: the Democrats want to reduce the scope of a government program! This idea alone is enough to balance the budget and maybe even pay off the national debt. Here are some additional ways we can apply this principle to reduce Federal spending.

  • Only give food stamps to poor Republicans.
  • Restrict the prescription drug benefit for Medicare to Republican seniors.
  • Only give tax cuts to Republicans.

The Democrats have been looking for something that would make them appear to be going forward instead of always criticizing the past, and I think they have a winner with this one.

In a spirit of true bipartisanship, I'm willing to help.

Respectfully submitted,

Ferdinand T. Cat
