Confused Americans for Truth - Rioting is Not the Solution to Lawlessness

Racial violence in Sydney, Australia is going into its third day, as police implement security measures to calm things down.

A BBC report lays the blame for the riots on long-term racial tensions between whites and Lebanese immigrants. Those tensions, however, are not racial in origin, but criminal. The rioters feel that Lebanese youth gangs are allowed to harass and assault beachgoers without fear of the police.

Oddly enough, the police crackdown is exactly what is needed, but it would have been better applied before a drunken mob was allowed to gather on the beach for purposes of revenge. The racial component of this riot comes from the fact that the mob incorrectly focused on "Lebanese" instead of "youth gangs".

Western Civilization is designed around the fact that most people can be trusted to be decent and honest. When that breaks down, the first instinctive response is to develop some simple rule that can be used to separate the good people from the dangerous ones. It is here that modern racism takes root.

Modern racism has absolutely nothing in common with the ethnic strife that began the Twentieth Century. This is not about the words we use or which races can handle the pressure of an Ivy League college. This is about not being afraid that the guy walking down the beach is going to pull a knife on you and take your wallet. Multiculturalism and political correctness cannot fix that. The only thing that fixes it posting extra police on the beach when the citizens get restless.

A single policeman could have turned away a whole flock of wrath.

A message by the Holy Spirit on The Christian Prophet blog is very interesting, implying that Muslim resistance to seeing themselves as one with Christians and Jews is creating an inevitible backlash. Something like that.
