Catblogging - The Finger-Sniffing Syndrome

by Ferdinand T Cat

Ferdy sinffing fingersHere is a picture of me practicing the age-old cat custom of finger-sniffing. When we meet a human for the first time, we sniff the fingers so we can learn a little bit about the person's history. In this case, however, it's the Gremlin's fingers, and I'm checking to make sure she hasn't been spending time with the Interloper.

Many people think that we do the sniffing thing to determine whether or not something is edible. This is true in some cases, however, I already know that humans are edible: they're giant hunks of protein inside a protein bag. I also know, however, that they object to being eaten while they're still alive, and besides they're bigger than I am. So, we sniff a human's fingers to figure out whether or not they're dangerous, and anybody who has fallen under the Interloper's malevolent influence is dangerous.

That's why it's important to sniff everybody's fingers.

Respectfully submitted,

Ferdinand T. Cat

Based on comparative sniffing habits, this also demonstrates cats superiority over dogs.
