EMAIL Hell - Virus Spammers Seeking People Stuck on Stupid

by Ferdinand T Cat

Okay, on the one hand, I think it's important for people to be aware of what's new and different in the spamming toolbox. On the other hand, this trick is so stupid I find it hard to believe anyone would fall for it.

hi,_ive_a_new_mail_address

hey its me, my old address dont work at time. i dont know why?! in the last days ive got some mails. i' think thaz your mails but im not sure!

plz read and check ...
cyaaaaaaa

The attachment is a virus.

I suppose it's possible some of you have friends with serious spelling and grammar problems who sometimes gets your mail. Possibly, you may not have such a friend, but would be tempted to see what's in the attachment. The operative rule, however, is TRUST NO ONE. To give you an idea of how serious this has become: I have even heard reports that there are people on the internet who pretend to be cats.

Just be careful, okay?

Respectfully submitted,

Ferdinand T. Cat

Merry Christmas Ferdy. (This is not spam...this is not spam...)

Not only do I not have friends and relatives who spell this badly, the ones that attempt to use L337 SP34K know they are destined for the autodelete. I just want an email screening program that will autodelete anyone who makes more than seven spelling errors in a two-line email.

You are absolutely the most amazing kitty Ferdy!

Hope you have a happy spam-free Christmas!

I have a cat on my blog pretending to be Santa.

Why is it that e-mail spam always has such egregious errors? I think I read that there was an actual reason for this, but I don't remember what it was. In any case, if someone with such a poor command of English lost my e-mail address, I don't think I'd supply it again.
