EMAIL Hell - EMAIL Spam About Reciprocal Links
Today received a spam EMAIL message that originated from the carnival submit form. I especially liked the opening.
Hi Webmaster,
I saw your site and found it to be very interesting and related to as that of mine {MailScanner has detected a possible fraud attempt from "www.novori.com}." claiming to be http://www.zerohosting.com}.
A little later there is an explanation for why one site I've never heard of before is pretending to be another site I've never heard of before.
As you must be aware about the recent issue that Google has stopped considering Reciprocal Links so we are doing 3 way link exchange with another website & ours i.e.: MailScanner has detected a possible fraud attempt from "www.tatiwalaje.com" claiming to be http://www. verydpromotion.com which is again a website promotion related website.
Now, as a matter of fact I do have a pretty good Google ranking already. We get 30% of our traffic from search engines. My personal theory (based on the search words used) is that you get a good Google ranking by talking about cats, MSN Messenger, and Laura Ingraham. Bruce disagrees, primarily because this page accounts for the biggest share of our search traffic; however, MSN Messenger is being used on the laptop computer shown in the photo, so I think my theory still applies.
In any case, I'm pretty easygoing about reciprocal links, but I will not be linking to the above sites for the following reasons.
- A real person would not have used the Carnival Submit Form to send me a link exchange request.
- The web site in question is for diamond jewelry. It has nothing to do with conservative politics, cats, or mozzarella cheese.
- The point of reciprocal links is not to improve Google rankings, it's to move up in the TTLB Ecosystem.
If you're interested in a reciprocal link, just avoid these mistakes and you should have no trouble at all.
Respectfully submitted,
Ferdinand T. Cat

Novori seem to be at the number one position for a lot of engagement rings keywords. Maybe Google's not quite as smart as they say they are. Or maybe they're just in it for the money like they all seem to be.

I received one email like this today. I thought this is a spam email and do any of you receive one like this? It doesn't make sense that Google stopped considering reciprocal links. Very rubbish!
