Notes from Ferdy - Predictions for 2005

by Ferdinand T Cat

It is traditional at this time for journalists to ruminate on the past year and make predictions for the year to come. I, however, like to offer my readers something a little different, so I am calling on the special psychic powers all cats possess to predict the past. This is no joke: if you look at my predictions for 2004, you'll notice they all came true.

So here are my predictions for 2005.

  • Thousands of innocent lives were ruined by massive, illegal invasions of privacy by Bush Administration officials. This led to a climate where liberals were afraid to speak out against the President.
  • Bush finally came to his senses and began to disengage from Iraq because millions of liberals spoke out against the President.
  • If Bush had known hurricanes also kill white people, he would have supported the Kyoto Accords.
  • The Religious Right tried to use the Indian Ocean tsunami as an excuse to fund an evangelizing effort in Southeast Asia, but thanks to the UN's careful oversight, only a fraction of the money actually reached its destination.
  • Bush lied when he said that New Orleans had a huge parking lot full of unused nuclear weapons.
  • Despite numerous warnings that he should choose a moderate to fill Sandra Day O'Connor's seat on the Supreme Court, Bush refused to nominate Hillary Clinton.
  • The feud between Don Surber and N.Z. Bear proves the Extreme Right is still deeply divided.

Respectfully submitted,

Ferdinand T. Cat

Ferdy - that's amazing. Your predictions for 2005 are eerily accurate. Have you considered doing this for a living? I'm sure there are a plethora of available positions in fore-rear-casting - unfortunately, most of them seem to be affiliated with the Democratic National Committee, so you might not be interested, at that.
Keep up the good work!
