Notes from Ferdy - Modern Technology at the Cook County Clerk's Office
Today is the Illinois primary election. The Cook County Clerk's Office web site has this page set up to help you find your local polling place and print a sample ballot. If you put in Bruce's address, here is what you see.
ADODB.Field error '800a0bcd'
Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted. Requested operation requires a current record.
/sub/polling.asp, line 70
I do not for a single instant think that this has anything to do with the fact that the County Clerk is a Democrat and Bruce is a Republican.
Respectfully submitted,
Ferdinand T. Cat

LOL! Boy am I slow to some things. Just now realizing you are from Illinois my home state. Southwest side of Chicago is my home berthe. I live out here on the 'dirty east coast' now but looking forward to moving back home one of these days even though I am a Republican and Chicago Democrats rule it is still home! Thanks for the updates. Politics in Illinois is a real doozy and albeit dirty all over, that place takes the cake!

On the other hand, remember not to automatically ascribe to malice what could be due to incompetence.
Have you tried any Democratic addresses by way of comparison?

When I lived on LaSalle, I also could not find my polling place. I think because LaSalle has different names in different parts of the city : BLVD, DR, etc. and so their software couldn't handle it.
But what's worse: when I called them they gave me the wrong polling station - one over a mile away. When I walked outside my apartment to go, I saw it another one right there across the street. I figured that was probably the right one.
I think they just didn't want me to vote.
Ah well, yesterday no one I wanted to win (even in the Democrat primary) won anyway.
