EMAIL Hell - An Important Step Forward in Email Fraud

by Ferdinand T Cat

In any communication-related enterprise, it's important to be aware of the changing cultural context and the emergence of new technologies.

Realizing that most people know how a Nigerian scam works and are simply too busy to read a long, drawn-out EMAIL, the scammers have come up with a new, more concise way to present their case. Here's an example we found in our inbox today.

I AM RICH BUT SICK I NEED U TO KEEP MY FUND AND GIVE TO CHARITY

The problem is that it has the feel of an instant message instead of legitimate correspondence. As a public service, I'm offering to scammers the right to use the following equally concise but more grammatically correct message which I developed myself.

I want to rip you off. Please reply.

Honesty is the best policy, after all.

Respectfully submitted,

Ferdinand T. Cat
