Confused Americans for Truth - The Lebanon War Enters the Talking Phase
We are now in the talking phase of the Lebanon War. People nowadays have great faith in the talking phase, the idea being that since war is senseless, all you have to do is get people talking to each other and they'll work out a compromise. The point behind compromise is that side A wants one thing, and side B wants another thing, and once you get both sides around a table, they'll decide to meet in the middle.
In this case, the two starting positions are as follows.
| Hezbollah | Israel | |
|---|---|---|
| Exterminate Israel | <———————> | Stop Trying to Kill Us |
You can see right away that there's a problem trying to find a middle ground here. Personally, I think the Israelis should start with Exterminate the Terrorists and then somewhere in the middle is a place where nobody gets killed. In a sane world, the fact that Israel is winning the war should count for something, but apparently the only thing that really counts is that Israel is full of Zionists. The power of that one word Zionist is unbelievable. You can lob rockets into cities, you can kidnap and kill people, and you can pay people to blow up civilians in shopping malls, and as long as you use the word Zionist somewhere it's all justified. We here in the West get nervous about using the word terrorist and the enemy has this magic word Zionist they throw around with impunity. It's completely cock-eyed.
Honestly, I'm concerned about this talking thing. I have this awful premonition that the deal is going to be something on the order of Israel paying a bunch of money in exchange for a promise that Hezbollah may at some time in the future give up on the whole exterminating thing. This is very similar to the formula in the Oslo Peace Accords back in 1993, or the king of all stupid deals, the Carter North Korea pact.
This can't be allowed. Here's my proposal. In exchange for Israel not annexing half of Lebanon, Hezbollah and their puppet masters in Syria and Iran can no longer use the word Zionist. It will be hard for them at first, but these people claim to be the hard-bitten warriors of the one true God, and hard-bitten warriors should be able to exert this little bit of self-control.
I think this is an idea that could really work.
Respectfully submitted,
