Notes from Ferdy - We Need Another Approach to Militant Islam
Long before I was born, it was considered inevitable that the Soviet Union and the United States would eventually destroy the entire world in a bath of nuclear fire. It was on television, it was in movies and comic books, and it was in book after book after book.
That entire worldview died because Ronald Reagan knew the Soviet Union's weakness: economic planning can't compete with the free market.
Today, we face a different enemy-- militant Islam. If we are to defeat it, we must learn its weakness. There's no question that the prophets of militant Islam know our weakness: we hate to kill civilians. They have exploited this weakness in every way possible. They make themselves look like civilians, they hide their weapons in civilian structures, and they use civilian casualties to break our will.
This imbalance cannot be allowed to continue. I have an idea, however, that I think may be just what the doctor ordered: the weakness of militant Islam is that the Islamists can't get a date.
Think about it! All we ever hear about is the stupid 72 virgins. Does a guy who can get a date need 72 virgins?
You can see my point. The solution to the entire mess, therefore, is to give these guys a way to meet women that doesn't involve getting killed in the midst of committing mass murder. We can achieve this with my Three-Point Plan for Peace:
- Translate Dating for Dummies into Arabic and Farsi.
- Set up an international fund to allow mosques to pass out free memberships in eHarmony.com.
- Increase the supply of eligible women in the Middle East by giving free airfare for these women to Iran, Syria, and Gaza.
I think it's worth a try.
Respectfully submitted,
Ferdinand T. Cat
