Notes from Ferdy - Lieberman, McKinney Lose in Primaries
Neither Joe Lieberman nor Cynthia McKinney will be representing the Democratic party this November. Lieberman, who ran as Vice-President in 2000, lost to businessman Ned Lamont, who has no political experience, but campaigned heavily against the Iraq War, which Lieberman supports. Lamont won 52% of the vote. McKinney, on the other hand, is not only opposed to the Iraq war, but also maintains that Bush deliberately allowed September 11 to happen for his own nefarious reasons. McKinney lost to county commissioner Hank Johnson, who pulled in 58% of the vote.

Leiberman announces his intent to run in November despite billowing clouds of smoke from Israeli bombing runs.
Lieberman intends to run as an independent in the Fall. Because the primary was such a close race, it is possible Lieberman will split the Democrat vote enough for the Republican candidate to win; however, this is not seen as likely because nobody can remember the Republican candidate's name.
McKinney's defeat is unlikely to affect the composition of the House, but it is good news for the Capitol police, who have had problems with McKinney in the recent past. I suspect the people who live in her district were tired of being a national joke.
Now if only we could do something about those goofy Senators from Massachussets.
Respectfully submitted,
Ferdinand T. Cat

I hope Liberman runs ... if anything, maybe Lamont will keep showing his true colors of the far looney left.
