Notes from Ferdy - Good News for Mel Gibson Fans
Good news for Mel Gibson fans: he has come out against the Iraq War, likening it to a form of "human sacrifice".
Earlier this year, Gibson got in trouble for blaming Jews for most of the wars in the world. However, Cindy Sheehan has a similar opinion, and she's a major Hollywood darling. The main difference was that Cindy is opposed to the War in Iraq. Now Mel has moved onto the same plateau, and we can expect his fortunes to improve.
Now, I firmly believe that Mel is sincere in his beliefs and is unaware that he's put himself back on the A-list for the first time since he started working on Passion of the Christ. Nonetheless, the anti-war movement has a problem, which is that aside from the Rove Doctrine, the only alternative strategy currently on the table involves wiping out Israel, and gosh darn it, that makes it easy to blame Israel for our problems. When you're stupid drunk, there's a real risk that your frustration with the Jewish State is going to boil over and land you on the front page of the Drudge Report.
Anyway, that's beside the point. The point is, I firmly believe Hollywood is going to show its tolerance for diversity by welcoming Mel back into the fold, and I wish him the best of luck in his new career.
Respectfully submitted,

Probably why he's on the Bush Bashing Bandwagon, to reclaim his place in Hollywood. Sad, since I thought he had more backbone than this; espeically after his movie no one wanted to support.
