Notes from Ferdy - The Path to the Path to 9/11
In my never-to-be-humble opinion, ABC really has no choice but to pull The Path to 9/11 now that Clinton's lawyers have gotten into the act. I think, however, ABC could salvage some of its investment by making a docudrama about the suppression of their original 9/11 docudrama. Unlike the controversy that swirled around The Reagans, the campaign against The Path to 9/11 has been conducted by rich and powerful politicians in the upper echelons of a major political party. Such people lead much more dramatic lives than the rest of us, so it's automatically more exciting television. Plus, by chronicling how easy it is for Democrat politicians to intimidate the media, this new docudrama would show the real value of having Democrats in your back pocket. I'm sure George Ryan is kicking himself right now: if he'd asked the Democrats to help him cover up the bribes-for-licenses story when it first broke, he might still be governor of Illinois.
So, if you work for ABC and you're trying to figure out how to recover from this major public relations disaster, fear not: there's still a great story here, and you don't even have to leave the office to get it.
Respectfully submitted,
Ferdinand T. Cat
