Notes from Ferdy - Gian Carlo Gets a Home on the Web
Gian Carlo is a book about a highly intelligent Siamese cat, as seen through the eyes of one of his pets. It was written by Dr. Burr Brundage, a historian who resembles in many particulars the narrator of the book, although we will never know how much of the story is fictionalized. The book begins thusly.
In certain corners of my world the spirit of a cat broods. His name is Gian Carlo, and I first met him in a hill town in Italy. His sapphire eyes still haunt me.
Anyway, the book has been out of print for some time, but it is now available on the web at http://www.gian-carlo-severini.net/. Several illustrations are included, and the whole experience is quite charming.
If you are a cat lover (which is to say, if you are a person of exquisite taste and high intelligence) be sure to check it out.
Respectfully submitted,
Ferdinand T. Cat
