Notes from Ferdy - Rush Limbaugh and the Cat Thing
The folks at Carry On America told me I should look at this article about Rush Limbaugh and his cat.
It turns out Rush made a joke about how his cat helped him to understand women. Here is how Rush describes the incident.
I said that she's a very smart cat. She gets fed. She gets petted. She gets caressed. She gets sheltered, all these things, and she doesn't have to do anything for it. And then I said: This experience has been more valuable to me than anything else in learning about women.
To a certain extent, this tempest in a teapot is meaningless, because everything Rush says gets attacked. The only difference here is that his cat is involved. Anything involving cats is automatically more interesting and important.
Rush's real mistake is that he's not learning enough from his cat. See, the cat shows some genuine affection in exchange for this pleasant treatment. This is because cats are smart. That separates them from, say, certain politicians who spit on the values of the people who elected them. So, really, the problem is not that Rush thinks women are like cats, it's that he keeps hanging around politicians who AREN'T like cats.
It's a very serious mistake.
Respectfully submitted,
Ferdinand T. Cat

Of course. Because she's worth it all—and more!—just for _who_ she _is_.

Thanks for the link.
How did you know I like cats so much?
I'm going to have to tell you the tale of Bentley (one of the two cats that owns me) sometime.
