Catblogging - Thanks to Caffeine Withdrawal, Here is a Picture of the Wrong Cat

by Ferdinand T Cat

Katy at rest on a coat
The Girl Who Feeds Me says caffeine withdrawal symptoms only last a week; however, in the meantime Bruce is a basket case. Here's an example of what I mean: he took a picture for the weekly cat blog, but it's not a picture of me, it's a picture of The Other Cat.

The Other Cat is 16 years old and has been officially at death's door for the last four of them. As far as I can tell, she survives out of sheer stubbornness. Although she is very affectionate with the Girl, for the rest of the family all she has is pure disdain.

For example, in a normal cat, play is a chance to hone hunting skills and get some exercise. That's why we run all over the room, throw the toys in the air, and stuff like that. The Other Cat will bat her toy a few feet, casually walk over to it, bat it again, and repeat. It's as if she wants to play, but can't bother with any of the running and jumping. Even when she's being mean to me, I can tell her heart's not in it. She whacks me in the head every time she walks past my sleeping place, but she doesn't hiss and her claws are sheathed. It's actually very insulting.

Anyway, next week Bruce will no longer have the blinding headaches and the nightmares, so we should be back to pictures of me, and with the possible exception of The Other Cat, we'll all be a lot happier.

Respectfully submitted,

Ferdinand T. Cat

Those caffeine fixes are necessary for survival.... of the cats. I fully expect a cat to one day, bring me my coffee.

Does this Other Cat have a name or are you just not going to tell us?
