Notes from Ferdy - In Which I Make a Completely Unselfish Suggestion That Has Nothing to Do With Me Taking Over the World
James Joyner of Outside the Beltway has an article about the stagnating growth of the political blog. Of course, the original research he cites is very limited (because it does not separate cat-oriented political blogs from non-cat blogs), but he does say this:
The paradigm is shifting toward a more networked, community-oriented model where a much higher percentage of the audience participates in the generation of new content.
There is a very easy way to get your blog into a more networked, community-oriented model, which is to start using Linkfest Haven Deluxe. Using the very latest in Open Trackback Support Technology™, Linkfest Haven Deluxe connects you with minimal effort to a growing community of bloggers that advertise each other's work. People are more likely to be attracted to your site, and many other participants will stop by to see how you're doing. Plus, there's absolutely no reason to worry that you're part of a subtle plot by me to achieve world domination!
Any blog that supports trackbacks can participate. The first step is to go to this page and register your blog. Then read my multimeida presentation on how it works. We also have special instructions for Movable Type and Wordpress users.
So start participating in Linkfest Haven Deluxe today, and rid yourself of that nasty Blog Stagnation Syndrome. I'll be glad you did, and that's what's really important.
Respectfully submitted,
Ferdinand T. Cat
