Confused Americans for Truth - Iran Launches Space Rocket, We Think
Iran claims to have launched a rocket into space. It has been known for some time that Iran wants its own space satellites. Two years ago it put a satellite into orbit with help from Russia. Unfortunately, we don't know any details about the success, failure, or purpose of yesterday's launch, because Al Gore's Oscar win is more important.
I suspect Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad assumed that a successful space launch by a nascent nuclear nation would dominate the day's headlines, but he miscalculated the sheer star power of the charismatic man who invented Global Warming. Three weeks from now, I doubt anyone will remember who won Best Picture, but three months from now An Inconvenient Truth will still be on everybody's lips.
I wonder how many tons of carbon an Iranian space rocket dumps into the atmosphere? If we could convince Hollywood that Iran was highly carbon-positive, maybe people would start taking the threat seriously.
Respectfully submitted,
