Confused Americans for Truth - Iranian President Ahmadinejad Announces More Announcements

by Ferdinand T Cat

Yesterday Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad followed through on his promise to make a major announcement by announcing that there will be all sorts of big, important announcements between now and April 9. Also, he reiterated his position in his last big announcement that Iran had an inalienable right to nuclear capabilities but is willing to negotiate. Then, this morning, in an interview with ABC, the Iranian leader denied a claim made on this blog that his country is helping to arm Iraqi insurgents.

This is where the story gets weird.

In a stunning reversal of their normal policy on investigating things about the Iraq war, Senator John Kerry [D-MA] and other Democrat party leaders have urged the U.S. to go slow and give Iran the benefit of the doubt. I can't be sure as to why they feel that way, but my working hypothesis is that the Democrats, who believe wartime dissent is exceptionally patriotic, are concluding that Ahmadinejad's consistently anti-American statements are proof of the Iranian leader's sincere love for the American people.

Um, I'm really sorry, because there are probably a lot of things we could learn from this story, but my brain is starting to hurt and I have to lie down.

Respectfully submitted,

Ferdinand T. Cat
