The Cat's Meow - 03/01/07: Inconvenient Truths

Movies recognize four standards of truth.
  1. An inspired by a true story movie is based on a statement the movie-makers believe to be true, but has no other relationship to real events.
  2. A based on a true story movie tells the story of real people, but the events portrayed are not necessarily true.
  3. A docudrama is based on real people and events, but some changes are made for the sake of dramatic impact and time constraints.
  4. A documentary is based on a statement the movie-makers believe to be true, but has no other relationship to real events.
