Free Ferdinand from the conservative nonsense! America supports terrorism not just Nancy Pelosi. We funded the apartheid regime in South Africa well into the 1980's. We hand picked Saddam Hussein (ie: Donald Rumsfield)as an outstanding young man to lead Iraq. We then funded his regime in a war against Iran. We also supported terrorists in Afghanistan who are now fighting us under the Al Queda banner. They now train in Pakistan the teror capital of the world. Why are we not at war there? Instead of fighting them we fund them so as they can oppose Hezbollah in Lebanon. The 9-11 conspirators were from Saudi Arabia why are we not at war with them? Sudan? Egypt? Shelton and myself would suggest that the the so called war on terror is just a metaphor to conserve the wealth of American oil. The monarch Bush is simply continuing attempts of his father and Bill Clinton to secure Iraqi oil and to create a new pipeline in Afghanistan. If Mobil and Chevron control the oil then Russia, China, and EU nations have to buy it from us rather than bidding for it from the country it is extracted from. That is also why we are supposed to hate Chavez, and Morales in South America. The rich sadly cannot get rich off the poor in Venezuela and Bolivia. Nancy Pelosi, Ike Skelton, and 99 percent of so called liberals support the World bank, big oil, and it's neo-con/liberal globalization adgenda. The consortium that controlled Bolivias water was controlled by US companies like Enron and then Bechtel. They made it illegal for poor people to collect rainwater on their own land. Those who opposed were shot, raped, or sent to prison. Privatisation gave sole control of water to Bechtels proxy Aguas del Tunari. Thankfully Bechtel was run out and the law in Bolivia puts a priority to the peoples needs instead of the pocketbooks of big buisness. The same pratices we denounce we then use to try and overtake anti capitalists. Violnece didn't work to overthrow Chavez so we tried to use his constitution against him. A US backed effort to get him voted out by referendum(a right he added to Venezuelas constitution)also failed. In the recall vote a democratic election process(overseen by US official) was won by Chavez 58-42. Perhaps the poor shouldn't be allowed to vote. I run a coffee shop and my wife is an elementary teacher so we don't gain anything from either partys economic policy. Our net worth has steadily declined just like the quality control of pet food. Or the auto industry in Detroit. Shelton the Madisonian kitty would like to work with Ferdinand the conservative kitty to find a way to ensure the health of all American kittys (Retreatocrat wallet takers or god fearing conservative wealth horders). Shelton wants American cats to eat food grown and produced in America. Does conservative cat support free trade with communist china? Could we sustain our culture if we didn't import wheat?

Often times the United States has supported people who turn out to be lowlifes simply because we have common interests. The Bush Administration is trying to change that policy, so I don't understand why you're unhappy about it.

Donald Rumsfeld had nothing to do with Saddam's role in Iraq. The coup that installed the Ba'athists in 1968 occurred while Rumsfeld was in Congres, well before the modern era in which opposition party Congressmen are allowed to conduct foreign policy missions. In the 1979 ouster of al-Bakr that made Saddam president-for-life Rumsfeld was working for a drug company.

I torpedoed the whole free-trade-China argument pretty thoroughly in other articles. I invite you to peruse those and comment as you wish.
