EMAIL Hell - Full Text of a Confidential Communication Sent to Me by Mr. Kelvin Dan

by Ferdinand T Cat

I always appreciate spam that combines blind stupidity with an admission of complete dishonesty. Here's the latest example.

Goodday,

I am Mr. Kelvin Dan, Banker of Williamson and Smith bank in london. Please reply me back at kelvindan@gawab.com

I am contacting you concerning a deceased customer that bears the same surname as you and an investment he placed under our banks management years ago. I would respectfully request that you keep the contents of this mail confidential and respect the integrity of the information you come by as a result of this mail.

Kelvin Dan.

Okay, first off, he wants me to help him steal money from some guy's estate. If I thought there were more than one chance in a million that somebody named Kelvin Dan worked for Williamson and Smith Bank in London, I would report him to the authorities just for asking.

But the really stupid part is that he sent it to ferdy@conservativecat.com as opposed to one of Bruce's two dozen EMAIL addresses. Does this mean that the deceased customer is named Mr. Cat?

Respectfully submitted,

Ferdinand T. Cat

I dunno... potentially a LOT of Sargento cheese is at stake. Maybe you'd better think about it.

Even if no cheese is directly at stake, you might want to consider it. Perhaps you are in Mr. Cat's will?

Maybe then you can get the cash and make Bruce buy you the cheese with it.
