Confused Americans for Truth - Please Stop the Dark Music and the Sepuchral Pronouncements
WLS-AM, which is the local radio station that carries Rush Limbaugh, just completed broadcasting a special ABC News Report on Cho Seung-Hui, the Virginia Tech killer. Listening to experts dissect Cho's motives and interpret his ravings was the last straw for me.
The truth is that Cho Seung-Hui did what he did because he was stupid.
I'm not talking about the clueless stupid of somebody like Bruce, or the fantasy-based stupid of someone like Rosie O'Donnell, I'm talking so criminally stupid that he can't perform the simple tasks required for even the most limited success in a country where one of the biggest problems is an epidemic of obesity among its poor people.
Here we have an English major who hates rich people and he's not working for the John Edwards Campaign. How stupid do you have to be to not make that connection?
At one point in his diatribes Cho lists terrible things that can happen to people-- trash stuffed down your mouth, digging your own grave, torched alive-- and how unfair it is that rich people don't have to worry about these things. But Cho, living on a college campus in the United States of America, didn't have to worry about any of those things either. If Cho thinks people should have to worry about things like that, then maybe he should have gone to Iraq to help the terrorists, who want everybody in the world to have to worry about being brutalized. Heck, the really smart thing would have been to work for the Edwards campaign, since Edwards is completely comfortable with the concept of letting the terrorists win in Iraq.
Now I realize I'm being over-the-top here, but damn it, we cannot afford to treat this guy like some deeply disturbed person who could have been saved. Cho didn't want to be saved. Being saved obligates you to go out and find a job and attend parties with the other volunteers at the local Edwards for President campaign headquarters. It means recognizing that the buzz cut and the faux hand-me-down jacket is a really stupid fashion statement if your goal is to get dates from the popular girls.
The point is that Cho was ultimately responsible for his own situation. We all make choices. Every choice involves a gain and a loss. If you make a choice, you must be willing to accept the loss in exchange for the gain.
Anything else is criminally stupid.
Respectfully submitted,
Ferdinand T. Cat

All the dissecting by so-called expert profilers has never worked to save anyone from someone hell-bent to go on a killing spree. Loved your lines “Here we have an English major who hates rich people and he's not working for the John Edwards Campaign. How stupid do you have to be to not make that connection?” Great!!!

I guess that Cho didn't consider himself to be one of the "rich" he so despised, despite being able to afford a college education, firearms, ammunition and all of the creature comforts.
And It's probably a sure bet he never bought you any of your favorite cheese.
