Confused Americans for Truth - Tenet's Book Solves Iraq Mystery
For some time there has been a question as to why America was unprepared for the insurgency in Iraq, but now a new book by former CIA chief George Tenet provides the answer: the CIA predicted it would happen.
In a normal situation, I would say that this situation is analogous to what happens when you play The Executive Game. The most common ending to the game (shown at left) involves a generally-incompetent assistant claiming you didn't listen to him one of the times you lost a lot of money. In a similar way, Tenet could be trying to draw attention away from his many failures by placing focus on the one time he guessed correctly.
But Tenet's failures were legion. Even before 9/11, his agency was an international joke. By the time of the Iraq invasion, any rational person would be basing policy on the diametrical opposite of his predictions. If he warned there would be anarchy in Iraq, then the Bush Administration could not be blamed for thinking it was all over when Baghdad fell.
Still, with each rat that deserts the sinking ship of the Global War on Terror, the insurgents gain in strength. George Tenet's book is just one more attempt to screw up American foreign policy in time for the next election cycle.
I'm being too harsh. George Tenet probably just thinks he's betraying President Bush, not the whole country. After all, if he had any idea of what really feeds the insurgency he would have mentioned it back when he was still head of the CIA.
Respectfully submitted,
Ferdinand T. Cat

Ferdy,
You can pack more truth (and snark) into the fewest paragraphs than anyone else I know! (That Executive Game is wonderfully true-to-life. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. Yep, just like life.)
Tenet is now going through the official Anti-American Beatification Process, starting with an appearance on “60 Minutes”. He is madly spinning the past, preparing for his Sainthood in the Pantheon of the Left. A little selective lying, a bit of the slight of hand, a few knives in the back, and he can betray just the Right People (pun intended). Betraying America comes with the Package Deal.
As Pogo the 'Possum said, everyone tries to predict the future; the real art is in predicting the past by putting just the right spin on it.

You really should read a book called THE TERROR TIMELINE by Paul Thompson. You seem both open minded and yet a little jaded--virtues in this world of media slant and skew. This book is the media base for the events that lead to 9/11. It will alter or reconstruct all of your views on the topic: what has been underlooked is amazing. Hope you will consider it even tho it has nothing to do with cats!
