Confused Americans for Truth - Jerry Falwell, RIP
Jerry Falwell's death is not going to change anything on the political scene, because he's been retired from public life for quite some time. His influence belonged to an older era, where information moved slowly and television was king. Some people can't restrain their glee at his passing.
Falwell's major impact in politics was that he stole Jesus from the Democrats. In the Sixties, Jesus was all about peace and social welfare. Nowadays he's about responsibility and moral absolutism. The truth is that he's about all those things. Nonetheless, the Jesus of Ronald Reagan was a hell of a lot more successful than the Jesus of Jimmy Carter.
Some very good people disagree with Falwell about the nature of right and wrong, but on our side of the aisle, we at least have the option of talking about it. Among the Democrats, it's all about power, and it's not working.
If that was Falwell's doing then we owe him a vote of thanks regardless of whether you or I agreed with him.
Respectfully submitted,
Ferdinand T. Cat

Ferdie, once again, you're a voice of reason. I've found myself disagreeing with Falwell more often than not, but to see the absolute unrestrained glee exhibited by some at his passing is just sickening.
Always a pleasure visiting here.
