Adventures with Bruce - Never Say "Impossible" to the Gremlin
I love the Gremlin dearly, but life with her is odd. For example, she aced The Impossible Quiz. (I think Bruce made it to question 3 before he gave up.) She's also the only person I ever met who has a collection of pieces of paper with odd-shaped holes in them.
Anyway, The Gremlin plays the baritone in her junior high band. This caused a problem when it came time to participate in the annual Talent Show. See, The Gremlin wanted to do something with her friend Matt. Matt plays the flute, so The Gremlin asked her band teacher if she and Matt could do a baritone-flute duet. The band teacher is an excellent educator, but she forgot that when you tell The Gremlin something is impossible, it's like taunting a hungry lion without the benefit of an intervening fence.
There's really no need to view the video below. It's perfectly normal to have a pleasant and fulfilling life on this Earth without ever hearing a baritone-flute duet; however, I felt it necessary to post it just in case people didn't believe that it really happened.
I understand that at least one person in the audience fainted when the Gremlin reached for a note that was originally intended for a French Horn.
So, don't let this happen to you. If you work at a junior high in North Dakota and during the next school year you run across a tall eighth-grade girl with glasses who likes to wear cargo pants and collects sheets of paper with odd-shaped holes, do not tell her something is impossible. Start with that sounds interesting, but you know what would be even better and suggest something along the lines of a brass quartet or a country and western karaoke. Otherwise, you'll end up with something like a baritone-flute duet.
You've been warned.
Respectfully submitted,

I think it was wonderful!
The quality of clenching your teeth and narrowing your eyes when told something is impossible is an enviable characteristic.
Go for it, Kid!
