Confused Americans for Truth - Point of Order, Mr. Reuters Reporter, Sir
Reuters has a story covering President Bush's criticism of Jimmy Carter. Two paragraphs are devoted to Bush's statement, and nine to all the many things Carter said when he called President Bush the worst President in history.
The most blatantly partisan paragraph of the entire article was this one.
Carter has been an outspoken critic of Bush, but the White House has largely refrained from attacking him in return. Sunday's sharp response marks a departure from the deference that sitting presidents traditionally have shown their predecessors.
This statement is factual; however, it fails to mention that there is also a tradition of predecessors showing deference to sitting presidents. Not only has Carter broken with that rule, but he has over time evolved from a slightly misguided, almost pathetic individual to a complete, raving lunatic. I'm serious, folks. I keep thinking he can't get any crazier, and I'm continually surprised.
And by the way, Tony Blair should sue.
Deference shown to predecessors. Right. I mean, who was it who handed Iran to the current crop of lunatics in the first place?
Respectifully submitted,
Ferdinand T. Cat
