Force Football - Another Shutout Against the Predators, 69-0 for the Force

by Ferdinand T Cat

Today's game was against the Detroit Predators, essentially a rerun of the game two weeks ago, except on the Force's home turf. The Predators, however, were suffering from more than the Away Field Disadvantage. For some unknown reason, they chose to use the Dan Ryan Expressway to get to the game. Under normal conditions the Dan Ryan is a parking lot, but with half the lanes closed for construction, it's a nightmare. Less than half of the Predators made it to the field, and some of those didn't arrive until half-time. Next time they plan a trip they should ask my help. I know all about the Dan Ryan.

The Force won the toss but deferred to the Predators, who chose to kick. The ball was caught by Wide Receiver Debbie Sanchez, who promptly handed the ball off to Running Back Sharmaine Lee. The Predators were completely unprepared for this and Lee ran the ball all the way into the end zone for a touchdown. It was kind of an omen for how the rest of the game was going to go.

One thing that bothered Bruce was that every time the Predators threw a pass, it would be to Debbie Sanchez. Debbie is a skilled receiver and when she runs she switches directions so fast it's almost impossible to catch her even if you have four players in the vicinity. The problem is, she's playing for the Force. It would be much better for the Predator quarterback to throw the ball someplace Debbie wasn't. For example, one time the pass was complete, but Debbie dragged the poor receiver back several yards before completing the tackle. More often than not, the pass ended up incomplete.

On one of those passes, however, Defensive Back Jennifer Dulski intercepted the throw and got her first touchdown of the season. She got her second later in the game by running the ball in a few yards from the goal. This last was after a touchdown pass to her was nullified by a flag on the play.

During the half time, they played music by rookie player Esther Henigan. She has a MySpace site here and is also listed on Christian Jukebox.

Some people have been asking why I don't go to the games myself. It has nothing to do with me being too scared to go out in public without The Gremlin for protection. It's because the park has a No Pets policy.

Technically, I'm not a pet, I'm an owner; however, the policy isn't really No Pets, it's Humans Only. If, for example, a grizzly bear were to walk onto the playing field, I guarantee you no one would think twice about whether it's a free-range beast or some seven-year-old kid's companion animal. The creature would be hauled out of there as soon as someone figured out a way past the four-inch claws and the giant economy-size fangs. On the other hand, Bruce is passed on through with no comment, even though he is far less able to take care of himself than the grizzly bear.

I don't make these rules: I just try to figure them out.

Anyway, next week is the big game against the Detroit Demolition. The Demolition is the only team who's been able to beat the Force this year, so the Force needs as many fans as possible to come out and cheer. Bruce has never seen the Force lose a game, and his fragile brain might crack if the Demolition win this one. The game is at Holmgren Field, which is located at the corner of Foster and Albany on the north side of Chicago. Tickets are available at the gate for $10. The game is played on Saturday, June 30, and starts at 3:00pm.

Respectfully submitted,

Ferdinand,
My name is Barkley. I have been to a few games to support my pet, Bridget Fahrner. The key is wear a t-shirt. Humans are confused by clothing items. It helps if you are little. I have seen your picture and you should be safe. I would love to have someone of the animal persuasion at the game. Do not let any other humans know, this will be our secret. Thanks for your words about the Force. You are a great cat.

Sincerely,
Donald Barkley Trump
